A Thank You from the WSBE26 Convenors
Thank you to everyone who joined us for WSBE26. Bringing together leading expertise and the latest research, the conference supported sustainable development and management of the built environment at all scales. We were thrilled to showcase cutting-edge research and development from around the world and to encourage the innovative thinking needed to address these critical issues. The City of Melbourne, known for its liveability, energy efficiency and net-zero emissions program, sustainable building initiatives and progressive practice, provided a fitting backdrop for this global event.
WSBE26 gave us the opportunity to plan beyond the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) timeline of 2015-2030, taking stock and moving from inaction to action on the challenges facing the built environment sector amid the triple planetary crises. Together, delegates charted a new course for humanity, embracing out-of-the-box thinking and accelerating solutions for both the Global North and the Global South.
